Specific organizations in Israel we support:

Alexander Muss High School, JNF: A pluralistic study-abroad program for high-school students in Israel.

 

Aliyah and Absorption of Ethiopian Jews through the Jewish Agency: Programs include teaching basic Judaism and Hebrew, improving literacy, providing instruction in health and hygiene, teaching about rights and responsibilities as Israeli citizens, etc. Programs to help foster successful integration into Israeli society include Hebrew language ulpan, projects to bridge educational and cultural gaps, employment training, and more.

 

Bikurim: The Youth Village for the Performing Arts in Eshkol (Israel) is an initiative to provide a world-class, intensive, performing arts school and residence to high school students with significant artistic potential but from disadvantaged homes throughout Israel, with emphasis on the southern half of the country. Located in the Eshkol region, which borders the Gaza Strip, the Youth Village is a warm environment for professional excellence as well as individual and collaborative achievement among youth who have hitherto felt marginalized in Israeli society, particularly in this region that has suffered years of trauma due to incessant rocket fire from Gaza.

 

Hand in Hand: Hand in Hand is building inclusion and equality between Arab and Jewish citizens of Israel through a growing network of bilingual, integrated schools and communities. Hand in Hand was established to combat one of Israel’s greatest existential threatsthe growing social alienation and lack of trust between Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel.

 

Jeremy's Circle: When cancer strikes, it strikes the entire family hard. The mission of Jeremy’s Circle is to create a supportive community based on friendship and fun for the children and young teens in Israel growing up with cancer in their families or who have suffered a cancer loss.

Kehilat Kol HaNeshama: A Jewish religious community based in Jerusalem and affiliated with the Reform Movement in Israel, sharing the values of pluralism, equality, Zionism, social justice, peace, and volunteerism.

 

Kibbutz Lotan: An Eco-Jewish intentional, collective community based on a creative approach to egalitarian Judaism and a deep commitment to environmental protection.

 

Leket: Leket Israel, the National Food Bank, is the leading food rescue organization in Israel. Unique among all other organizations that serve the poor in Israel and food banks worldwide, Leket Israel’s sole focus is rescuing healthful, surplus food and delivering it to those in need through partner nonprofit organizations.

 

Livnot: Livnot U’Lehibanot is a holistic, physically and spiritually challenging Israel experience program that connects participants to their heritage and community in an open environment. Its programs strengthen Jewish identity through hiking the Land of Israel, experiential education, community service, and meaningful interactions with local Israelis.

 

Shaalei Tikva: Shaalim Teen Girls at Risk program provides early intervention in the lives of young teen girls whose homes are of neglect and of emotional and sexual abuse. The ‘warm home’ gives the girls a personal safe space and the tools to deal with their personal trauma and abuse.

 

Yad LaKashish: Jerusalem nonprofit empowering low-income elderly through meaningful work opportunities, essential social and financial benefits, as well as promoting positive attitudes towards seniors through inter-generational connections.
