Chaplaincy Services
Jewish Federation Chaplaincy Services partners with activities or pastoral care directors at local nursing homes and assisted-living facilities to meet the needs of their Jewish residents in the greater Capital District. More than 25 volunteers support our Chaplaincy program with their efforts and time.
Chaplaincy volunteers may lead or assist at Shabbat and holiday programs. Some have residents with whom they visit regularly, forming lasting bonds of friendship. Some light electric Shabbat candles, deliver matzah for Passover, listen to a story, sing a song, or just hold a hand.
If you would like to bring some Yiddishkeit into the life of the frail elderly, please contact Rabbi Bev for more information.
